Moscow Entrepreneurship Week will take place in the Russian capital between 28 May and 1 June, this time with support from the City Government. According to the Moscow Mayor’s official website, the event will offer a unified platform for the five major forums aimed at developing the potential of small and medium-sized businesses, business culture and practical skills, as well as at sharing experience. These will include the Moscow Entrepreneurial Forum, the Transformation 3 Educational Forum, the Fashion Industry Forum, the Startup Village conference and the World Franchise Forum and Moscow Franchise Expo.
“Moscow is home to a growing number of sole traders. Some 17,000 sole proprietorships were registered in the first quarter of this year, an 11.5% increase year-on-year to a total of almost 300,000”, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin tweeted.
Franchising offers the easiest path to starting a business, hence its growing popularity among would-be entrepreneurs. It has been developing steadily in Russia, with up to 15% annual increases in the number of new businesses. Russia has more than 50,000 franchisees representing some 1,450 brands, of which 67% are homegrown.
The World Franchise Forum and Moscow Franchise Expo will take place in Moscow between 28 May and 1 June 2018 and will be attended by participants from more than 30 countries. Supported by the Roscongress Foundation and the Russian Franchise Association, the events seek to promote successful practices developed in Russia’s regions and identify issues facing entrepreneurs, as well as offering complete information on events and trends in the area of global franchising.
