Investors and franchisors from more than 30 countries will get together at the Moscow Franchise Expo 2018 as part of the World Franchise Forum on 30 May at Moscow’s Expocentre Central Exhibition Complex.
Businesses that do not require significant investments and have a quick payback period take on added importance during an unstable economic situation. Franchising is of particular interest to start-ups since it is an ideal model that offers optimal conditions for starting a business.
The franchise market in Russia has been developing for more than 20 years now and the share of domestic brands on the market is steadily growing. This is the result of active support from the government: a programme was developed in 2017 to support Russian companies that are entering foreign markets. The Russian Export Center (REC) oversees the ‘Made in Russia’ programme. The REC will present the most competitive Russian franchises in terms of export potential at its booth at the Moscow Franchise Expo 2018. The booth’s exhibitors will include: the company 1C, the Invitro chain of medical offices, the Rosinter restaurant group, Brain Development (a project by Robotrek for Russian developments in educational robotics) and other companies.
REC Group Executive Director Alexei Tupanov said the World Franchise Forum and Exhibition not only provides entrepreneurs with an opportunity to utilize a set of tools to create their own business, but is also an excellent time for them to present their products. “A key goal of such business events is to draw attention to the best domestic practices in order to further strengthen, develop, and promote them to foreign markets”, Tupanov said.
The Russian Franchise Association (RAF), the organizer of the event, will provide young regional brands with a unique opportunity to announce their business as part of the ‘Franchise Lift’ project. Young franchises that entered the market on preferential terms in 2017–2018 will have an opportunity to demonstrate their concepts to investors not only from all regions of Russia, but also from other countries as well as receive advice from leading industry experts.
The World Franchise Forum and the Moscow Franchise Expo 2018 will take place on 30 May–1 June with the support of the Moscow Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
